Pediatric Hospitalist Needed for Med/Psych Unit - Brown Academic Appointment

Hasbro Children’s/Brown University Health has an opening for a full-time pediatrician to work on the Selya 6 Inpatient Med/Psych Unit, a national referral center for patients with Med/Psych presentations. This 16-bed unit is a nationally known and joint program of the Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Child Psychiatry and Human Behavior, receiving referrals nationally and internationally. The program provides intensive treatment for teens with both medical and psychological concerns. Patients present with a wide range of illnesses including pain disorders, somatoform/functional disorders, and eating disorders as well as chronic medical illnesses complicated by non-adherence which have been unresponsive to standard outpatient treatment.
About the job
Care for 8-10 patients per day
Work as a member of a strong, integrated team consisting of three other pediatricians, child psychologists, child psychiatrists, rehab services, RNs and dietitians
Patients are aged 10-18 with an average stay of 3-6 weeks
We work in a family-based, integrated treatment model including multi-modal therapies with access to all medical services available at the institution. Many patients move to our partial hospital program after inpatient treatment
Work Monday-Friday, triaged call from home only Monday-Thursday, No weekend coverage
