Clinical Psychologist for Early Childhood Psychiatric Partial Hospital Program, Brown Academic Appointment
Riverside, Rhode Island
Brown University Health (BUH): Bradley Hospital, an affiliated teaching hospital of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University has an exciting opening for a child and family psychologist to join our Pediatric Partial Hospital Program. This is the chance to join a nationally recognized, multidisciplinary, world-class program.
About the job:
Full-time, clinically focused position working with a renowned multidisciplinary team on a family-focused, day hospital program.
Work with patients ages 0-7 years, and their families, who are in need of stabilization, assessment and treatment.
Treat very young children with a broad range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, ADHD and externalizing disorders, problems with self-harm/suicidal ideation, aggression, elopement, disrupted attachment, sleeping, feeding, toileting, medical treatment compliance, and relationships.
Given their age and the nature of the needs of these very young children, a day treatment program is preferred to hospitalization or out-of-home placement and preserves the focus of treatment on the home-caregiver environment, addressing emotional and social difficulties within the family as an integral part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
Function as a primary clinician on a multidisciplinary team providing care coordination, treatment planning, diagnostic assessments; parent-child, family, and individual therapies; parent guidance; overseeing group and milieu therapies, home, school, and community visits.
Serve as the leader of the treatment team for the assigned caseload, and support the responsibilities of program operations.
Teaching and supervision opportunities within the broader system may be available, with a Clinical Faculty appointment to Brown University Medical School.
Collaborative research opportunities may be available.
