Director, Bradley Learning Exchange, Bradley Hospital at Brown University Health, 0.5 FTE

The Bradley Learning Exchange is the hospital-wide center for clinical education, professional development, and workforce training across Bradley Hospital and Gateway Healthcare. As a key leader, you will shape curriculum, guide staff development, and build training programs that elevate the quality of care across the entire Brown University Health system. This highly influential role partners closely with hospital leadership, clinical teams, educators, state agencies, and community organizations to strengthen the skills, competencies, and impact of the behavioral health workforce.

The position is half-time, with the potential for an additional half-time clinical appointment.

Role of the BLE Director
Oversees all aspects of the Bradley Hospital clinical training department known as the Bradley Learning Exchange (BLE):
  • Responsible for the implementation of staffing, budgeting, curricula, continuous improvement and performance monitoring of a hospital-wide education and training department.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of formal curriculum for the orientation and continuing education of Bradley and Gateway Healthcare staff across disciplines.
  • Oversees the Brown University Health Workplace Violence Prevention program.
  • Interviews and hires clinical, supervisory and direct service-providing staff across disciplines and supports all staff in growth opportunities.
  • Has some direct teaching responsibilities within the formal professional development curricula.  
  • Provides consultation to Bradley Hospital Human Resources regarding the implementation of standards for hiring, tracking, educational background and accomplishments, and the usage and tracking of the education assistance program.
  • Provides consultation to Brown University Health leadership regarding staff development needs within specific programs or within specific departments.
  • Provides consultation to hospital employees regarding professional development and opportunities for continuing education both within the Bradley/Brown University Health system as well as in the surrounding community.
  • Assesses and pursues opportunities to market the Bradley Learning Exchange services to community vendors.
  • Participates in federal, regional, and local grant applications, implementation, and management.
  • Participates in foundation and other philanthropic funding acquisition and management.
  • Participates in Brown University Health committees as appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
  • PhD or PsyD and clinical internship from APA-accredited programs and licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island.
  • At least five years of relevant clinical and/or training experience within a teaching hospital, university, school system administration or related setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience in the staffing and management of a training department, healthcare, or education setting.
  • Factors, including collaboration, valuing differences, and instilling trust.
  • A strategic thinker who excels at developing teams, ensuring accountability, and advancing organizational learning.
