Brown University Health (Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital - affiliated hospitals of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University) is seeking a clinical or counseling psychologist to join our Young Adult and General Outpatient Psychiatry teams. This blended position is a unique opportunity to work in both general adult outpatient and young adult behavioral health, serving a diverse range of populations and working closely with a renowned multidisciplinary team.
Outpatient psychologists in our Adult Outpatient program carry long-term patients from a wide range of backgrounds. We work closely with our psychiatrists and care coordinators who assist us in connecting our patients with essential community resources. The Young Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Program helps 18- to 26-year-olds struggling with psychiatric illness live more productive lives by providing comprehensive and age-appropriate psychiatric services. The licensed psychologist will provide clinical services in our Young Adult Psychiatry Program and in our General Outpatient Psychiatry service, as part of a multidisciplinary team, including intake evaluations and individual psychotherapy.
The psychologist may also have the opportunity to be involved in training and/or supervision of psychology or medical residents or fellows affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. A clinical faculty appointment may be available for a candidate who meets the criteria.
About You:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program required
Clinical internship from an APA-accredited program required
Licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island (includes completion of postdoctoral fellowship)
Desire to work in a team-based care model and collaborate with other providers
Drawn to a diverse patient population and range of clinical presentations
Interest in academic teaching and working in an academic medical center
Good sense of humor and desire to be part of a supportive environment
